Fatigue Bending of V-Notched Cold-Sprayed FeCoCrNiMn Coatings

Cold-spray coatings were produced by FeCoCrNiMn high-entropy alloy powders deposited on carbon steel substrate. The realized at intermediate temperature and high pressure (at 1100 °C 7 MPa). coating microstructure was characterized scanning electron microscopy X-ray diffraction, revealing a very dense deposition flattening ratio of the splatted particles. This had large influence strong adhesion to hardness residual stress profiles measured through nanoindentation diffraction from peak broadening layer layer. cyclic behavior evaluated three-point bending tests performed V-notched samples coated via cold spray. Cyclic different maximum strokes 0.3 3.6 mm in order monitor crack initiation propagation during tests. fracture surface aspect analyzed reveal mechanisms deformation conditions.
